Computational Systems Biology

Research Group Computational Systems Biology

  • We are bioinformatics researchers. The research group is headed by Jan Baumbach. Jan recently moved from the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley to establish the workgroup Computational Systems Biology. Please use the links below for more information regarding our work.

  • Recently, we developed and published Transitivity Clustering:
Wittkop T, Emig D, Lange SJ, Rahmann S, Albrecht M, Morris JH, Boecker S, Stoye J, Baumbach J (2010) Partitioning biological data with Transitivity Clustering. Nature Methods 2010 Jun;7(6):419-20. PubMed
A web interface, Cytoscape plugins, the stand-alone software, as well as tutorials and application examples are available at the Transitivity Clustering web site.
We will present Transitivity Clustering at the Technology Track at the 18th Annual International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB), July 11-13 2010, Boston (MA, USA). Please check the conference web site for more details, the time schedule etc.
